Snowshoe Mystery Solved

Biologists were uncertain if the native snowshoe hare was still found in lower mainland British Columbia, and survey methods are expensive (they have to be distinguished from the European snowshoe hare and the eastern cottontail), so they asked wildlife rehabilitators to keep an eye out for them. Animal rescuers provided evidence and genetic samples of 20 of the hares that were found injured, including both sexes and different life stages. (News source.)
