True's beaked whale in New Jersey

A 15-foot-long True's beaked whale washed up on shore in Beach Haven, New Jersey on December 31, 2007.
True's beaked whale (Mesoplodon mirus ) are rarely seen in the wild, and what is known of this species (described in 1913) comes primarily from strandings. Strandings themselves are rare as well.
