Thanks for publishing this-I remember Heuvelman's account years ago, in the chapter on giant snakes in South America. Good to see that there is still material to be unearthed, as it were. On the subject of giant snakes, the question was posed ( at Tetrapod Zoology ) but never answered-what are the biological constraints on snakes reaching the hundred foot mark? D. Naish said it was pretty much impossible, if memory serves, but gave no explanation.
